CHESTER | CHESHIRE | WIRRAL | NORTH WEST

I photograph weddings the way they actually happen – chaotic, tender, unrepeatable. No posing marathons. No stiff shots – just me, being very quiet in the right place at the right time.

What People Say

Testimonial One
Fiona & Sean

Minstrel Court, Cambridge

“We LOVED Chip! He photographed our wedding in April, and also did our engagement shoot last year. We felt so comfortable throughout the whole process – he made us and our guests feel relaxed and happy around the camera. It didn’t feel like we had a photographer at our wedding – Chip was one of our guests, and became a friend. Thank-you so much!”

“We barely saw Chip and Lina during our day except for the staged session after the ceremony right before sunset – the images are gorgeous! There was no drama, no fuss – just breezing through the day effortlessly – we were always at ease, even at our most intimate moments. No pressure, no strees. We can’t recommend Chip & Lina enough!

“Thanks for the hard work! I know it wasn’t the easiest wedding to shoot because of me being so emotional, but the result is fantastic!!! We had such a good rapport with friends and family about the whole experience! Highly recommended, we’ll be in touch soon! Thanks again!!!”

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

We believe clarity brings comfort – so here are the questions we’re asked most often, answered with care.

Definitely. A large part of my Cheshire work is in the villages just outside Chester. Tarporley, Tattenhall, Tarvin, and Christleton are all within a short drive and I cover them as part of my standard Chester coverage, with no additional travel cost.

Chester has a brilliant mix of venues. Peckforton Castle and Carden Park are two of the most popular for a grand countryside feel, while Eaton Hall and The Pavilion at Bishton Hall offer a more classic estate setting. I have shot at venues across the area and am always happy to discuss what would suit your style.

Chester is one of my favourite places to photograph portraits. The Rows, with their unique two-tier medieval shopping galleries, give brilliant texture and light. The city walls near the Eastgate Clock are a classic spot at golden hour, and the Groves along the River Dee offer a relaxed, green setting for the evening. Chester Cathedral’s grounds also work beautifully for more formal portraits.

Yes. Chester Cathedral, St Mary’s Creative Space, and St John the Baptist’s Church are all stunning settings, and I have experience working with the lighting challenges that come with older buildings. I usually visit beforehand to plan around the time of day your service is booked.

Yes, a good amount of my Chester work is in the surrounding villages, including Tarporley, Tattenhall, and Christleton. This is all part of my standard Chester coverage with no additional travel cost.

Yes, and Chester is a great location for them. Couples often choose between the Groves for something relaxed by the river, the city walls and Rows for an urban, architectural feel, or Grosvenor Park for something greener and quieter.

Chester sits centrally within my usual coverage area, so I regularly photograph weddings out to Wrexham, Nantwich, and across into Wirral, all within a comfortable travel time. Further afield is no problem either, it is simply factored into the quote.

I do. The sandstone of the city walls and the Rows actually photographs beautifully in soft, overcast light, and the covered walkways through the Rows mean a sudden shower rarely stops the day.

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”

A wedding is not a photoshoot with a wedding attached to it. It is one of the most human days you will ever have – full of nerves, laughter, bad dancing, and the occasional very emotional uncle or parent. I am there for all of it.

My wedding photography style sits where fine art photography meets photojournalism – I want the pictures to be beautiful, but I want them to be true first. I move quietly through your day, dipping in and out of the crowd, and the only time you will really notice me is during the brief portraits after the ceremony.
