YOUR WEDDING,
AS IT TRULY FELT.

Meet Chip

Obsessive about light. difficult to spot at weddings.

Profile

I photograph weddings the way they actually happen: chaotic, tender, funny, emotional and completely unrepeatable.
No posing marathons. No stiff shots. No disappearing for three hours to manufacture the perfect photograph.
Just me, quietly moving through your day, watching the light, anticipating the moments and being in exactly the right place when something real happens.

MANCHESTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Manchester is a brilliant place to get married

There is something about the city that photographs beautifully. Victorian architecture, old brick, enormous windows, industrial textures, modern glass, hidden courtyards, rooftop views and streets that come alive after dark.
But the city itself isn’t what makes your photographs.

You do.

Your dad trying not to cry during the ceremony. Your best friend losing it during the speeches. Your mum fixing your veil. The five seconds of quiet you share together before walking into the reception. Everyone dancing badly at midnight.

Those are the photographs I want.

My approach is documentary wedding photography with a fine art finish. I want your photographs to be beautiful, but never at the expense of what actually happened.

What Our Clients Say

Testimonial One

Minstrel Court, Cambridge

“We LOVED Chip! He photographed our wedding in April, and also did our engagement shoot last year. We felt so comfortable throughout the whole process – he made us and our guests feel relaxed and happy around the camera. It didn’t feel like we had a photographer at our wedding – Chip was one of our guests, and became a friend. Thank-you so much!”

“We barely saw Chip during our day except for the staged session after the ceremony right before sunset – the images are gorgeous! There was no drama, no fuss – just breezing through the day effortlessly – we were always at ease, even at our most intimate moments. No pressure, no strees. We can’t recommend him enough!

“Thanks for the hard work! I know it wasn’t the easiest wedding to shoot because of me being so emotional, but the result is fantastic!!! We had such a good rapport with friends and family about the whole experience! Highly recommended, we’ll be in touch soon! Thanks again!!!”

MANCHESTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE CITY, THE LIGHT, THE PEOPLE

Manchester gives me a lot to work with.

From the exposed brick and industrial architecture around Castlefield to the grand interiors of Manchester’s historic buildings, the city has a visual character that works incredibly well with documentary and fine art wedding photography.

A wedding in Manchester doesn’t have to look like a traditional wedding.

It can feel modern, urban, editorial, relaxed, intimate, colourful, chaotic or completely understated.

And I don’t want to impose a style on it.

I want to photograph your version of Manchester.

A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

We believe clarity brings comfort – so here are the questions we’re asked most often, answered with care.

It depends completely on the kind of wedding you’re planning.
For industrial character, Victoria Baths, the Science and Industry Museum and Castlefield offer something very distinctive.
For historic grandeur, Manchester Hall, The Monastery and Manchester’s civic architecture provide a completely different feel.
For contemporary city centre weddings, venues such as King Street Townhouse offer a more modern and luxurious atmosphere.
I’m happy to help you think through how different venues will work photographically rather than simply telling you which one looks best online.

Yes. I photograph weddings throughout Manchester, Greater Manchester and the surrounding North West, from city centre weddings to venues across South Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Trafford and beyond.

Absolutely.
Manchester city centre is one of the most interesting environments for documentary wedding photography because there is so much happening around you.
The streets, architecture, canals, bars, hotels and people can all become part of the photographs.

Castlefield is fantastic for industrial and urban portraits, particularly around the canals and historic architecture.
The Northern Quarter works beautifully for something more colourful and informal.
The city centre itself offers plenty of architectural options around King Street, Deansgate and the surrounding streets.
For something quieter and greener, South Manchester offers plenty of alternatives.
The important thing is that we don’t need to spend an hour hunting for the perfect spot.

Yes.
Manchester is brilliant for engagement sessions because there are so many different environments within a relatively small area.
We can make it urban, relaxed, architectural, colourful, green or completely personal to you.

Yes, absolutely.
Weddings don’t all follow the same format, and I’m comfortable working around different traditions, ceremonies, family structures and celebrations.
Whether your day includes multiple ceremonies, large family groups, cultural traditions or a packed Manchester reception, I’ll work around the rhythm of the day rather than trying to force it into a standard wedding photography template.

Absolutely.
A wedding doesn’t need 150 guests to deserve the same level of attention.
Intimate weddings can actually create some of the most emotional photographs because there is nowhere for the important moments to hide.

Yes.
Manchester is part of a much wider North West wedding area for me, including Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, the Peak District and further afield.
If your wedding takes me somewhere I’ve never photographed before, that’s not a problem.
A new venue simply means a new set of things to discover.

We photograph it.
Manchester’s architecture, streets and interiors can look incredible in soft, wet weather, and I’ll always look for ways to make the conditions work rather than treating rain as a problem.

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”

A wedding is not a photoshoot with a wedding attached to it. It is one of the most human days you will ever have – full of nerves, laughter, bad dancing, and the occasional very emotional uncle or parent. I am there for all of it.

My wedding photography style sits where fine art photography meets photojournalism – I want the pictures to be beautiful, but I want them to be true first. I move quietly through your day, dipping in and out of the crowd, and the only time you will really notice me is during the brief portraits after the ceremony.

Tell me about your day.

I take on a small number of Cheshire weddings each year so I can give every couple my full attention. If your date is coming up – or even if it is two years away – I would love to hear about it.
