A Few Things You Might Be Wondering

Liverpool has a brilliant mix of venues. Thornton Manor and Hillbark Hotel are two of the most popular for a grand countryside feel just outside the city, while venues like the Titanic Hotel and 30 James Street bring real maritime character right in the docks. For something more classic, Liverpool Town Hall and the Rum Warehouse at Stanley Dock both offer a stunning sense of scale.

Liverpool is one of my favourite places to photograph portraits because the architecture does so much of the work for you. The Albert Dock and the Three Graces along the waterfront give a brilliant sense of grandeur, while the Georgian Quarter around Rodney Street has some of the most photogenic streets in the city. For something greener, Sefton Park and Calderstones Park both offer a relaxed, natural setting away from the crowds.

Yes. Liverpool is genuinely spoiled for choice here, between Liverpool Cathedral, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and smaller historic churches across the city. Both cathedrals offer dramatic scale and light that I have a lot of experience working with, and I usually visit beforehand to plan around the time of day your service is booked.

Yes, a good amount of my Liverpool work is actually just outside the centre. I regularly photograph weddings across the Wirral, including Heswall and Hoylake, as well as Crosby, Formby, and Woolton, all as part of my standard Merseyside coverage with no additional travel cost.

Yes, the docks are one of the most distinctive settings the city has to offer. Royal Albert Dock and the wider waterfront give you that unmistakable Liverpool skyline as a backdrop, with the Liver Building and the Mersey behind you, which photographs completely differently to a countryside estate wedding.

Yes, and Liverpool is a fantastic location for them. Couples often choose between the Albert Dock waterfront for something iconic, the Georgian Quarter for a quieter architectural feel, or one of the city’s parks for something more relaxed and green.

Liverpool sits centrally within my usual coverage area, so I regularly photograph weddings out across the Wirral, into Cheshire towards Chester and Knutsford, north towards Southport and Preston, and into Manchester, all within a comfortable travel time. Further afield is no problem either, it is simply factored into the quote.

I do. The red brick across the city, particularly around the docks and the cathedrals, actually photographs beautifully in soft, overcast light, and there is no shortage of covered spots across the waterfront if a shower rolls in.

Yes, Southport and the surrounding coastline are part of my regular coverage area. It is a lovely contrast to the city, with a different feel entirely thanks to the seafront and the more traditional seaside character.

Yes, this happens more often than you might think, particularly with couples getting ready in the city and holding their ceremony or reception somewhere further out. I am used to coordinating coverage across two very different locations on the same day.

A wedding is not a photoshoot with a wedding attached to it. It is one of the most human days you will ever have – full of nerves, laughter, bad dancing, and the occasional very emotional uncle or parent. I am there for all of it.

My wedding photography style sits where fine art photography meets photojournalism – I want the pictures to be beautiful, but I want them to be true first. I move quietly through your day, dipping in and out of the crowd, and the only time you will really notice me is during the brief portraits after the ceremony.
